About the Company :
Verdantis builds MRO360, an AI-native platform that helps maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) teams in asset-heavy industries clean, enrich, reason over, and act on their spare parts, inventory, procurement, and reliability data.
Role Summary :
Verdantis is hiring a hands-on engineering leader to run the MRO360 team. The role combines technical leadership - architecture, delivery, and mentorship - with real coding across backend, frontend, and AI workflows. A core focus is establishing disciplined, agentic development practices : using AI coding agents to accelerate delivery while enforcing rigorous human review, testing, and production accountability.
Key Responsibilities :
Engineering Leadership & Delivery :
- Own architecture and technical direction across backend, frontend, AI workflows, and integrations.
- Translate product requirements into technical designs and shipped software.
- Partner with product, AI, QA, DevOps, and customer-facing teams; surface risks early.
Hands-On Coding :
- Write and review production code across the stack; build APIs, services, and UI features.
- Debug complex issues and improve performance, reliability, and observability.
Agentic Coding & AI-Native Engineering :
- Use tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar coding agents in real workflows.
- Build internal agents for code review, test generation, documentation, and refactoring.
- Set guardrails, prompts, and standards governing what agents may change vs. what requires human review.
- Red-team AI-generated code for hallucinated logic, security gaps, and weak tests before merge.
AI Product Development :
- Collaborate with AI engineers on LLM features, RAG pipelines, and data enrichment workflows.
- Balance AI capability against accuracy, cost, latency, and customer trust.
Team Leadership :
- Mentor engineers through design and code review; set standards for quality and delivery.
- Support hiring and build a culture of ownership and disciplined AI tool use.
Candidate Requirements :
Must-Have :
- 8 - 12+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years in a technical lead / staff role.
- Strong coding ability in at least two of : Node.js, Python, Java, React.
- Experience building SaaS, enterprise, or AI-enabled products.
- Practical, real-world use of AI coding tools or agents - not just autocomplete.
- Ability to design simple agentic systems (LLM APIs, tool calling, structured outputs).
- Solid grasp of backend APIs, databases, auth, CI/CD, and production debugging.
- Strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong Advantage :
- Experience with LLM apps, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or agent frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).
- Experience building developer-productivity agents (file edits, test runs, PR summaries).
- Familiarity with MRO, EAM, ERP, or procurement systems (SAP, Oracle, Maximo, Ariba, Coupa).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and 0-1 or 1-10 product building.
Success in the First 90 Days :
- Understand the MRO360 product and architecture; take ownership of a module or technical area.
- Stand up at least one working coding-agent workflow (e.g., PR review, test generation).
- Establish a review path so AI-written code is challenged by tests and senior judgment before production.
- Ship production-quality features and identify weak spots in architecture and workflow.
Ideal Fit :
This role suits a builder-leader who still enjoys writing code, has used AI coding tools seriously in production settings, and can red-team AI-generated output rather than accept it at face value. It is not suited to a pure management profile, someone who treats agent output as a shortcut around review, or someone who cannot operate production systems without AI assistance.
