About the Role :
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled DT Data Modeler to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and developing robust Digital Twin Definition Language (DTDL) models for complex assets, processes, and systems. This role requires a deep understanding of digital twin concepts, strong proficiency in Azure Digital Twins, and the ability to translate real-world industrial systems into accurate and scalable digital representations. You will play a critical role in building the foundation for our digital twin solutions, enabling advanced analytics, simulations, and operational insights.
Key Responsibilities :
- DTDL Model Design & Development : Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Digital Twin Definition Language (DTDL) models to accurately represent physical assets, operational processes, and complex systems within an industrial context.
- Twin Graph Creation & Management : Create, manage, and optimize twin graphs, defining relationships, hierarchies, and semantic connections between various physical and logical entities to ensure a holistic digital representation.
- Domain Collaboration : Collaborate closely with domain experts, engineers, and stakeholders to thoroughly understand real-world systems, operational nuances, and data sources, translating this knowledge into precise and effective digital models.
- Azure Digital Twins Implementation : Implement and deploy DTDL models and twin graphs within the Azure Digital Twins platform, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Data Integration & Mapping : Work with data engineers to map and integrate diverse data sources (e.g., sensor data, ERP systems, historical archives) into the digital twin models, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Solution Architecture Contribution : Contribute to the overall solution architecture for digital twin initiatives, providing expertise on data modeling best practices, graph database design, and semantic interoperability.
- Documentation & Best Practices : Develop and maintain clear documentation for DTDL models, twin graphs, and data modeling standards. Promote best practices for digital twin implementation and governance.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve issues related to digital twin data models, performance, and data accuracy, continuously optimizing models for efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills :
- Azure Digital Twins Expertise : Strong, hands-on experience with Azure Digital Twins, including extensive knowledge of DTDL modeling, twin graph manipulation, and API interactions.
- Azure Services Proficiency : Proven proficiency with key Azure services relevant to IoT and digital twins, including :
1. Azure IoT Hub
2. Azure Digital Twins
3. Azure Data Explorer (Kusto Query Language - KQL)
4. Azure Event Grid
5. Azure Functions
6. Azure Logic Apps
- Data Modeling Principles : Solid understanding of advanced data modeling principles, including relational, NoSQL, graph structures, and semantic relationships.
- Industrial Domain Knowledge : Experience working with manufacturing systems, industrial protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT), and handling large volumes of time-series data from industrial equipment.
- Technical Foundations : Familiarity with data interchange formats such as JSON and strong experience with REST APIs for integration. Proficiency in scripting with Azure CLI or PowerShell.
- Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex data modeling and integration challenges.
- Communication & Collaboration : Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience :
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data modeling, solution architecture, or a related field, with a significant focus on digital twin technologies.
- Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing large-scale digital twin solutions in an industrial or enterprise environment.
- Prior experience in a role requiring direct collaboration with operational technology (OT) teams and domain experts.
