Role Overview :

The ACE Development Manager will lead the design, development, and management of integration solutions supporting the organizations ERP platform and related enterprise systems. This role will oversee a development team while coordinating closely with stakeholders and technical teams across Australia and South Africa to ensure seamless system integration, efficient delivery, and high-quality software development.

The role requires strong expertise in enterprise integration, ERP system development, and cross-regional team coordination.

Key Responsibilities :

ERP Integration & Development :

- Lead the design and development of integration services supporting the ERP ecosystem using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE).

- Build and maintain integration flows between ERP modules and external systems such as finance, logistics, supplier portals, and operational platforms.

- Implement APIs, data transformations, and message-based integrations (REST, SOAP, MQ, file-based interfaces).

- Ensure data consistency and reliability across ERP systems and integrated applications.

Technical Leadership :

- Manage and mentor a team of integration developers and backend engineers.

- Define development standards, coding practices, and integration architecture guidelines.

- Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.

- Guide developers in troubleshooting complex integration issues.

Cross-Regional Coordination :

- Act as the technical coordination point between Australia and South Africa teams.

- Ensure alignment on requirements, development priorities, and deployment schedules.

- Facilitate regular technical discussions, sprint planning, and progress tracking across time zones.

- Communicate project updates, risks, and technical decisions to stakeholders.

Integration Architecture & Design :

- Design integration architecture for ERP modules such as :

1. Procurement

2. Order Management

3. Finance

4. Inventory and Logistics

- Ensure integrations follow enterprise architecture, security, and performance standards.

Project & Delivery Management :

- Plan development activities, track deliverables, and ensure milestones are met.

- Work with business analysts and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutions.

- Support agile delivery processes including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning.

Deployment & Environment Management :

- Manage deployment pipelines and releases across development, testing, and production environments.

- Coordinate with DevOps teams to ensure reliable builds and deployments.

- Maintain documentation of integration flows, APIs, and system dependencies.

Monitoring & Support :

- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for integration services.

- Provide production support and root cause analysis for critical issues.

- Continuously improve system performance and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) or enterprise integration middleware.

- Experience working with ERP systems and enterprise application integration.

- Strong knowledge of REST / SOAP APIs

- Message queues and event-driven architecture

- Data transformation (XML, JSON, EDI)

- Experience managing distributed or offshore development teams.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

- Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills.
