Job Summary :
The Delivery Director is responsible for leading the functional delivery of software solutions across multiple business domains. This role ensures that software products meet functional requirements, are delivered on time, and align with strategic business goals. The director collaborates with product owners, business analysts, and technical teams to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality software.
Key Responsibilities :
Functional Leadership :
- Lead the functional delivery of software projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements and objectives.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and delivery plans.
Stakeholder Management :
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and solution design discussions.
Project Oversight :
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of functional components of software projects.
- Ensure timely delivery within scope and budget, while maintaining quality standards.
Team Management :
- Manage and mentor functional delivery managers, business analysts, and solution architects.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
Process Improvement :
- Implement best practices in functional delivery, including Agile methodologies and continuous feedback loops.
- Drive improvements in requirement traceability, documentation, and testing alignment.
Risk & Quality Management :
- Identify and mitigate functional delivery risks.
- Ensure functional testing and validation are aligned with business expectations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software delivery, with at least 5 years in a functional leadership role.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), Agile, and DevOps practices.
- Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and complex enterprise projects.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills :
- Experience with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, Oracle).
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
- Certifications such as PMP, CBAP, or SAFe Agilist are a plus.
