Engineering Manager - Data Engineering

Experience : 10 to 17 Years

Location : Bangalore / Pune / Mumbai

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage Data Engineering teams, driving delivery, technical excellence, and team growth.

- Architect and build scalable data platforms using Databricks, PySpark, and AWS.

- Oversee the development of ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion frameworks, and workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow.

- Drive technical decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

- Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.

- Manage project planning, sprint execution, stakeholder communication, and client engagements.

- Ensure data quality, platform reliability, security, and performance optimization.

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in Data Engineering and Big Data ecosystems.

- Hands-on expertise with Databricks, PySpark, SQL, and AWS services.

- Experience with Apache Airflow and modern data architectures.

- Knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and large-scale data processing.

- Experience leading engineering teams, hiring, mentoring, and performance management.

- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 10 - 15 years of experience in Software/Data Engineering, including 3 - 5 years in Engineering Management.

- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale data platforms and leading high-performing engineering teams.
