Job Type : Full-time

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Accessibility QA Engineer / Accessibility Testing Specialist with 6-8 years of overall experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on experience in Web Accessibility Engineering and Quality Assurance. The candidate will be responsible for accessibility testing of web and mobile applications across iOS and Android, ensuring compliance with WCAG, WAI-ARIA, ADA, and Section 508 standards.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform manual and automated accessibility testing for web and mobile applications.

- Test applications across iOS and Android platforms for accessibility compliance.

- Identify, document, prioritize, and track accessibility defects.

- Validate web and mobile applications against WCAG 2.0 and WCAG 2.1 standards.

- Assess applications for Level A, AA, and AAA conformance, with strong focus on Level AA compliance.

- Perform testing using assistive technologies and accessibility tools, including :

1. JAWS

2. NVDA

3. TalkBack

4. VoiceOver

5. AXE

6. Color Contrast Analyzer (CCA)

- Evaluate keyboard navigation, focus management, screen-reader behavior, semantic structure, forms, labels, color contrast, ARIA implementation, and other accessibility criteria.

- Provide actionable recommendations to development teams for resolving accessibility issues.

- Validate accessibility fixes through regression and re-testing.

- Work closely with developers, UI/UX teams, business analysts, and QA teams to build accessible applications.

- Review web and mobile content and application implementations for WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA compliance.

- Support accessibility assessments and compliance reporting.

- Maintain accessibility test cases, defect reports, test evidence, and documentation.

- Stay current with accessibility standards, regulations, and industry best practices.

Mandatory Technical Skills :

- 5+ years of hands-on Web Accessibility Engineering / Accessibility QA experience.

- Strong experience in manual and automated accessibility testing.

- Experience testing Web, iOS, and Android applications.

- Strong knowledge of :

1. WCAG 2.0

2. WCAG 2.1

3. WAI-ARIA

4. ADA

5. Section 508

- Understanding of WCAG Level A, AA, and AAA conformance.

- Strong practical knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1 Level AA requirements.

- Hands-on experience with :

1. JAWS

2. NVDA

3. VoiceOver

4. TalkBack

5. AXE

6. Color Contrast Analyzer (CCA)

Accessibility Testing Expertise :

- Candidates should have practical experience validating :

1. Keyboard-only navigation

2. Screen-reader compatibility

3. Focus order and focus visibility

4. Alternative text and accessible names

5. Form labels and error messages

6. Headings, landmarks, and semantic HTML

7. Links and buttons

8. Color contrast and non-color-dependent information

9. Dynamic content and live regions

10. WAI-ARIA roles, states, and properties

11. Responsive and mobile accessibility

12. Touch interaction and mobile screen-reader behavior

13. Accessibility of multimedia and interactive components

Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge :

- The candidate should have a thorough understanding of applicable accessibility laws, policies, regulations, and standards, particularly :

1. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

2. Section 508

3. WCAG 2.0 / WCAG 2.1

4. W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI)

5. WAI-ARIA

Good to Have :

- 2+ years of UI development experience.

- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern UI frameworks.

- Experience with accessibility automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.

- Experience working with developers to remediate WCAG violations.

- Experience creating accessibility testing strategies and compliance reports.

- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
