Job Description : Ab Initio Developer (5+ Years) - Chennai

Role : Ab Initio Developer / ETL Developer

Experience : 5-10 years

Location : Chennai (5 days wfo)

Domain : BFSI / Banking / Insurance / Data Engineering / Analytics

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows using Ab Initio (GDE, EME, Co>Op, Conduct>It).

- Develop and optimize graphs, plans, and components for large-scale data processing.

- Work with metadata management, data quality rules, and reusable components.

- Perform data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and transformation based on business rules.

- Handle performance tuning, resolution of bottlenecks, and optimization of ETL flows.

- Work with various file formats, databases, and large datasets.

- Implement workflows in Control Center / Conduct>It for scheduling and orchestration.

- Participate in migration, enhancement, and production support activities.

- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, QA, and cross-functional teams.

- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and best practices.

- Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews.

- Troubleshoot issues in development, QA, and production environments.

Required Skills :

- 5+ years hands-on experience with Ab Initio GDE, EME, PDL, Conduct>It.

- Strong understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and data pipelines.

- Strong SQL skills in Oracle / Teradata / Netezza / Snowflake.

- Experience with data partitioning, parallelism, performance tuning.

- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell scripting, autosys/control-m job scheduling.

- Strong analytical and debugging skills.

- Experience with batch processing, real-time integration, and distributed systems.

Good-to-Have Skills :

- Experience with Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Hive, HDFS).

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for modern data engineering.

- Knowledge of Python for automation.

- Familiarity with data quality tools and data governance frameworks.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum.
