Role Overview :

As a DataStage Administrator at 64 Squares, you will be responsible for the overall health, performance, and security of our DataStage environments. You will collaborate closely with ETL developers, database administrators, and business stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our data integration pipelines. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining data quality, optimizing performance, and resolving any issues that may arise. This role directly impacts the reliability and accuracy of the data used for critical business decisions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Administer and maintain IBM DataStage environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability for ETL processes.

- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and scalability for all data integration tasks.

- Manage user access and security permissions within DataStage, adhering to company security policies and compliance requirements.

- Troubleshoot and resolve DataStage-related issues, providing timely support to ETL developers and business users.

- Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures for DataStage environments, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.

- Collaborate with DBA teams to ensure seamless integration between DataStage and underlying databases.

- Develop and maintain documentation for DataStage configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring knowledge sharing and consistency.

- Plan and execute DataStage upgrades and patches, minimizing downtime and ensuring compatibility with other systems.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated expertise in administering and supporting IBM DataStage environments, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.

- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex DataStage-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to ETL processes.

- Strong understanding of ETL concepts and best practices, with the ability to design and implement efficient data integration solutions.

- Solid knowledge of SQL and database administration principles, enabling effective collaboration with DBA teams.

- Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems, including scripting and system administration tasks.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

- 10 to 12 years of experience in DataStage Administration.
