Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Matillion Developer with a minimum of 6 years in data engineering, possessing strong expertise in Snowflake data warehousing and specific domain knowledge within the Banking/Financial Services sector. This full-time role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance ELT pipelines using the Matillion ETL tool. The developer will be crucial in ensuring data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with global teams to deliver real-time financial data solutions.

Job Description :

ELT Development and Data Pipeline Optimization :

- Design, develop, and meticulously optimize complex ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) workflows and jobs primarily using the Matillion ETL platform, leveraging its native integration capabilities with Snowflake.

- Implement advanced Snowflake features, including Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Streams, and Tasks, to ensure pipeline efficiency, data governance, and version control.

- Write and optimize highly performant SQL queries, stored procedures, and User-Defined Functions (UDFs) directly within the Snowflake environment to execute complex data transformations and business logic.

- Ensure all data integration processes adhere to established data warehousing principles (e.g., Kimball, Inmon) and dimensional modeling techniques within the Snowflake structure.

Financial Data Domain and Compliance :

- Work extensively with specialized Banking/Financial Data structures, including transactional data, regulatory reporting data, customer master data, compliance logs, and market risk metrics.

- Develop and maintain data quality checks and validation routines within Matillion to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data loaded into Snowflake.

- Implement granular security measures in the data pipelines, ensuring compliance with strict financial regulations and policies related to data security and privacy (e.g., PII, GDPR, etc.).

- Support cloud-based data integration efforts, ensuring connectivity and security standards are met, particularly across Azure and AWS cloud environments where source systems or data lakes reside.

Engineering Practices and Collaboration :

- Collaborate closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Business Teams to translate complex business requirements and reporting needs into efficient, maintainable data solutions.

- Ensure the continuous delivery of pipeline code by adhering to version control practices using Git and contributing to the automation of the data deployment lifecycle via CI/CD pipelines.

- Perform technical performance tuning across the end-to-end data flow, focusing on optimizing Matillion job execution times and minimizing Snowflake compute resource consumption.

- Act as a self-motivated technical resource, exhibiting strong customer service orientation and effectively collaborating with global teams and clients to meet demanding SLAs.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience : Mandatory 6+ years in Data Engineering / ETL development, with 4+ years dedicated to Matillion and Snowflake.

- Core Technologies : Expert proficiency in Matillion ETL and Snowflake data warehousing features, including performance tuning and advanced SQL.

- Domain : Strong working understanding of banking/financial data structures and the associated regulatory and compliance requirements.

- Engineering Practice : Mandatory familiarity with Git for version control, CI/CD, and concepts related to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).

- Education : Graduate degree, preferably B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, or equivalent field experience, along with industry-recognized certifications in Data Management.

Preferred Skills :

- Certification : Snowflake Certifications (SnowPro Core) or Matillion Certifications.

- Cloud Platform : Hands-on experience with specific cloud storage and compute services (AWS S3/EC2, Azure Blob/Virtual Machines).

- Programming : Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for custom Matillion components or data manipulation tasks outside of SQL.

- Reporting Integration : Experience integrating Snowflake with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI) for final data consumption.

- Agile Tooling : Experience using JIRA or Azure DevOps for managing data engineering project backlogs and tasks.
