2G Protocol Development Engineer - 3GPP

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and implement 2G protocol features on the BSC (Base Station Controller) platform.

- Analyze, debug, and resolve internal and customer-reported issues related to 2G protocol stack.

- Ensure developed features are compliant with 3GPP specifications and industry standards.

- Participate in integration, system-level testing, and validation of new features and fixes.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Systems, and Integration to ensure seamless deployment.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to design, implementation, and testing.

- Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers if required.

Required Skills :

- Strong programming skills in C/C++ with hands-on development experience.

- Solid understanding or working experience in 2G protocols (GSM/GPRS) or RAN (Radio Access Network) systems.

- Experience in debugging and troubleshooting embedded systems and protocol stack layers.

- Proficiency in working with wireless communication standards, including knowledge of Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with telecom equipment vendors or mobile network infrastructure development.

- Familiarity with protocol analyzers, simulation tools, and network emulators.

- Exposure to other wireless technologies (e.g., 3G, LTE, 5G) is a plus.

Education :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
