z/OS System Programmer - RACF Administration

About the Role :

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform system software installation, SMP/E management, and IPL procedures to keep the z/OS environment uptodate.

- Customize and tune the operating system for optimal performance, including memory, I/O, and workload management.

- Administer RACF security policies, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.

- Manage and support mainframe subsystems such as JES2/JES3, CICS, DB2, IMS, and TCP/IP, ensuring their stability and integration.

- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot JCL, REXX, and CLIST scripts used for batch processing and automation.

Candidate Requirements :

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in z/OS System Programming and RACF Administration.

- Strong experience in IBM z/OS system administration and system programming.

- Hands-on experience with SMP/E, IPL, system customization, performance tuning, and system software

maintenance.

- Good knowledge of RACF security administration, auditing, and compliance.

- Experience with mainframe subsystems such as JES2/JES3, CICS, DB2, IMS, and TCP/IP.

- Experience with JCL, REXX, and/or CLIST.

- Exposure to DR/BCP activities and change management processes.

- Candidates should have a strong System Programmer background rather than a pure Mainframe Operations background.
