About the Role :

Yoda Tech is looking for an experienced SAP BW & ABAP Technical Consultant with 5 - 6 years of hands-on experience in SAP BW/BW4HANA, along with strong practical experience in ABAP development, debugging, and BW-specific ABAP programming.

The primary focus of this role is SAP BW development, data modelling, extraction, transformation, data loading, reporting, performance optimization, and production support.

The consultant should also be comfortable using ABAP to develop and troubleshoot BW routines, extraction logic, enhancements, and other technical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical ownership of BW solutions and the ability to work independently across development, enhancement, troubleshooting, and support activities.

Key Responsibilities :

1. SAP BW / BW4HANA :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP BW/BW4HANA data models and data flows.

- Develop and maintain ADSO, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, Transformations, DTPs, Open ODS Views, and related BW objects.

- Design and implement ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from SAP and non-SAP source systems.

- Work with DataSources, standard SAP extractors, ODP, and other BW extraction mechanisms.

- Develop and optimize BW Queries using BEx Query Designer or relevant BW query tools.

- Design, develop, monitor, and troubleshoot Process Chains and automated data-loading processes.

- Analyze and resolve issues related to data loads, transformations, data accuracy, reporting, and BW performance.

- Perform data validation and reconciliation between source systems and BW.

- Monitor scheduled data loads and investigate failed, delayed, or inconsistent process chains.

- Participate in BW performance tuning, including query, data-load, transformation, and data-model optimization.

- Support BW implementation, enhancement, migration, rollout, and production-support activities.

- Participate in testing, deployment, transport management, and post-go-live support.

2. ABAP Development & Technical Support :

- Develop and maintain ABAP programs and technical objects supporting SAP BW solutions.

- Develop and maintain ABAP routines, including transformation routines, start routines, end routines, expert routines, and related BW-specific logic.

- Perform ABAP debugging and root-cause analysis for BW data-load and processing issues.

- Develop or modify ABAP-based extraction logic, DataSources, extractors, and enhancements where required.

- Analyze and optimize ABAP code affecting BW data extraction, transformation, and processing performance.

- Work with ABAP developers and SAP functional teams to resolve complex technical issues.

- Review existing ABAP code and identify opportunities for performance and maintainability improvements.

3. Functional & Technical Collaboration :

- Work with functional teams to understand reporting and data requirements and translate them into technical BW solutions.

- Coordinate with SAP functional areas such as FI/CO, SD, MM, PP, and other modules as required for data extraction and reporting.

- Analyze source-system structures and determine appropriate extraction and data-modelling approaches.

- Prepare technical specifications, development documentation, data-flow documentation, and support documentation.

- Provide production support and participate in incident, problem, and root-cause analysis.

- Work effectively with onshore/offshore teams, functional consultants, developers, and business stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills :

1. Must Have :

- 5 - 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP BW / BW on HANA / BW4HANA.

- Strong understanding of SAP BW architecture and data warehousing concepts.

- Hands-on experience with : ADSO, CompositeProviders, InfoObjects, Transformations, DTP, DataSources, Process Chains, Open ODS Views, BW Queries.

- Strong understanding of SAP BW extraction, ETL, and data-loading processes.

- Hands-on experience with ODP-based extraction and SAP standard extractors.

- Strong practical ABAP experience, particularly in the context of SAP BW.

- Hands-on experience with ABAP routines, debugging, extraction logic, and BW-related technical development.

- Ability to independently troubleshoot BW and ABAP-related technical issues.

- Experience with BW performance optimization and troubleshooting.

- Good understanding of SAP HANA concepts.

2. Preferred :

- Hands-on experience with SAP BW/4HANA.

- Experience integrating BW with SAP S/4HANA.

- Knowledge of HANA SQL / SQLScript.

- Experience with CDS Views / AMDP and their relevance to BW extraction or data modelling.

- Exposure to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP BusinessObjects, or Power BI.

- Experience with BW modernization, migration, or conversion projects.

- Experience working across implementation, rollout, enhancement, and production-support projects.

- Experience with complex data reconciliation and data-quality requirements.

Functional / Business Skills :

- Ability to understand business reporting requirements and translate them into scalable technical BW solutions.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to independently investigate technical issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Good understanding of data quality, reconciliation, and reporting processes.

- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

- Ability to work effectively with functional consultants, technical teams, business users, and onshore/offshore teams.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- SAP BW/BW4HANA certification is an advantage but not mandatory.

Experience :

- 5 - 10 years of relevant SAP BW/BW4HANA experience with strong hands-on ABAP experience.

Key Requirement :

- SAP BW is the primary skill for this role.

- Candidates must also have genuine hands-on ABAP development and debugging experience, preferably in SAP BW environments.

- Candidates with only basic ABAP exposure or ABAP knowledge limited to occasional debugging will not be suitable for this position.
