Job Description

Senior Product Designer | Fleet Owner App & Telematics | Gurgaon, India (In-office)

About WheelsEye :

WheelsEye's telematics business is shaping how India's truck owners run their fleets, and what logistics should feel like for them. These are people who have carried the pain of this industry for close to two decades, and we want to change that - to bring dignity and respect back into the business. We are building the experiences that make managing a fleet intuitive, trustworthy, and seamlessly part of everyday life.

The Role :

As a Senior Product Designer on the Fleet Owner design team, you will define what the telematics experience should be : buying a tracking device, getting it installed, learning what the features are actually useful for, and running a fleet through them. This is a 0-to-1 environment for design - the business has scaled, and design now has to catch up and then lead the narrative. You will soak up context from across verticals, make big decisions, and align business and product around them.

What you'll do :

- Own design problems end to end, from the first framing of the problem through to the screens that ship.

- Decide what is worth solving, working with product managers as a thought partner rather than a recipient of specs - and push back when the framing is wrong.

- Design for the product as it really behaves, not the version where everything works. The moments where things go wrong are where the experience is actually decided.

- Develop scalable interaction patterns and frameworks, take them to the design team as a whole, and land them in the design system.

- Ship, measure, and improve your work using support tickets, product data, and time spent with real fleet owners.

- Add to the team's shared knowledge of AI-led design, contributing your own workflows back into the common pool.

- Give and seek critique, raising the quality bar on work that is not your own.

What we're looking for :

- 4+ years of product design experience on software of comparable complexity - dense, data-heavy, or operationally coupled products, not marketing surfaces.

- A bachelor's degree.

- A portfolio that includes at least one product where no established pattern existed, and where you decided the model rather than adapting a known one.

- Research you have run yourself - you have sat with users who are nothing like you.

- The ability to explain why a screen is the way it is without appealing to convention.

Interview Process :

1. Portfolio Screening : You walk us through your work. We're looking at whether you decided or executed, and how you reasoned about your own work.

2. Design Assignment : A take-home brief (you'll choose from two options), with a defined set of deliverables covering your approach, production-fidelity screens, edge-case states, components, and your use of AI in the process.

3. Whiteboarding : A live problem-solving session on a fresh brief, testing how you break down an ambiguous problem in real time.

4. Product Round : A conversation with a Senior PM / our product leadership.
