About the Team :

The Supply Chain Retail Technology team builds large-scale platforms that power how customer orders are fulfilledbalancing speed, cost, and customer experience. The team works across the full customer journey, from search and checkout to order fulfillment and last-mile delivery, enabling high availability and accurate fulfillment promises at scale.

Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead high-performing engineering teams building mission-critical, customer-facing and backend platforms. This role combines technical depth, people leadership, and strategic thinking to deliver scalable systems in a highly distributed, high-volume retail environment.

You will partner closely with Product, Data, Operations, and Business stakeholders to drive platform evolution, reliability, and innovation across supply chain and retail fulfillment systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Engineering Leadership :

- Lead, mentor, and grow multiple teams of software engineers

- Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous learning

- Set clear goals, performance expectations, and career development plans

Technical Strategy & Architecture :

- Own architectural decisions for scalable, resilient, and high-availability systems

- Drive design and development of distributed systems handling large-scale data and transactions

- Ensure best practices in system design, code quality, security, and performance

Delivery & Execution :

- Own end-to-end delivery of complex projects across multiple teams

- Balance short-term execution with long-term platform scalability

- Ensure timely delivery while maintaining engineering quality

Cross-functional Collaboration :

- Partner with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and technical strategy

- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Retail, and Operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions

- Communicate clearly with senior leadership on risks, progress, and outcomes

Operational Excellence :

- Improve system reliability, observability, and incident response

- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, CI/CD, and operational metrics

- Lead efforts around cost optimization, scalability, and system efficiency

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Skills :

- Strong background in software engineering and system design

- Experience building distributed, highly scalable backend systems

- Hands-on experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar backend languages

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)

- Knowledge of microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and data pipelines

- Familiarity with databases (SQL & NoSQL), caching, messaging systems

Leadership & Experience :

- 12+ years of software engineering experience

- 5+ years managing and scaling engineering teams

- Proven ability to lead teams delivering complex, customer-facing platforms

- Strong decision-making and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have :

- Experience in Supply Chain, Retail, E-commerce, or Logistics domains

- Exposure to high-traffic consumer platforms

- Experience working in agile, fast-paced product environments
