VOIP Application Support Engineer
Location : Chennai / Hyderabad
Experience : 3- 6 Years
We are looking for a VOIP Application Support Engineer with strong experience in Linux environments and Asterisk-based VOIP platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for L2/L3 production support, troubleshooting SIP/RTP issues, and maintaining high availability of VOIP systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide L2/L3 production support for VOIP applications and telephony platforms.
- Troubleshoot SIP signaling, RTP media flow, and call quality issues.
- Monitor and maintain VOIP servers for performance, availability, and stability.
- Perform log analysis, packet capture analysis, and root cause identification using tools like Wireshark and TCPdump.
- Manage and support Asterisk-based telephony systems.
- Work closely with network, infrastructure, and development teams to resolve issues.
- Perform incident management, problem management, and system maintenance activities.
- Ensure high availability and uptime of VOIP platforms.
Required Skills :
- Strong experience with Asterisk-based VOIP platforms such as Asterisk, Elastix, FreePBX, Vicidial.
- Good hands-on experience in Linux (RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu).
- Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, and VOIP call flows.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, TCPdump.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, log analysis, and production support processes.
Good to Have :
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS / Azure).
- Understanding of networking concepts TCP/IP, NAT, Firewall, Load Balancers.
- Experience with high-availability VOIP deployments.
Qualification :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or related field.
