Role Overview :

We are seeking a VMware Consultant to design, implement, and optimize modern VMware-based private cloud and Kubernetes platforms. This role requires strong expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), NSX, and VMware Tanzu, along with hands-on experience in automation, Linux environments, and enterprise-scale virtualization.

You will work closely with cloud, DevOps, security, and application teams, leading VMware initiatives from architecture and deployment through operations, optimization, and transformation.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, deploy, and administer VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments including vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and SDDC Manager.

- Manage and optimize NSX-T/NSX-V for software-defined networking, micro-segmentation, and security.

- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of VMware infrastructure through capacity planning and proactive optimization.

- Design and implement VMware Tanzu solutions to support containerized and cloud-native workloads.

- Deploy and manage Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) clusters across enterprise environments.

- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate Kubernetes platforms with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native tooling.

- Automate VMware workflows using vRealize Automation (vRA), PowerCLI, and scripting (Python preferred).

- Develop reusable automation modules for provisioning, scaling, patching, and compliance.

- Drive infrastructure-as-code and self-service cloud capabilities.

- Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).

- Lead troubleshooting and major incident management for VMware-based platforms.

- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across cloud, security, DevOps, and application teams.

- Participate in architectural reviews, solution design workshops, and customer-facing discussions.

- Stay current with emerging VMware technologies and industry best practices.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- 6 to 9 years of VMware infrastructure experience.

- Strong hands-on expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).

- Deep knowledge of NSX-T/NSX-V, including routing, load balancing, and micro-segmentation.

- Hands-on experience with VMware Tanzu and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG).

- Strong Linux system administration experience.

- In-depth understanding of : vSphere, vSAN, ESXi, vCenter SDDC Manager Kubernetes fundamentals and operations

- Strong networking knowledge : TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls.

- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerCLI mandatory; Python preferred).

- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.

Nice to Have :

- VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCAP-DCV, VCIX, or VCDX.

- Exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.

- Experience working in consulting or customer-facing roles.

- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks.
