Virtusa - Software Engineer - ALM/Requirements Management

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer with hands-on expertise in ALM/requirements management platforms such as Codebeamer, Polarion, Jama, Jira, or DOORS NG. The role will involve developing, configuring, integrating, and supporting engineering lifecycle solutions while working closely with software and systems engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, configure, customize, and maintain solutions on ALM and requirements management platforms such as Codebeamer, Polarion, Jama, Jira, or DOORS NG.

- Work with engineering teams to understand requirements, workflows, traceability needs, and lifecycle processes and translate them into technical solutions.

- Configure workflows, fields, forms, permissions, traceability, and reporting capabilities within ALM platforms.

- Develop and maintain integrations between ALM platforms and other engineering or enterprise applications using available APIs and integration mechanisms.

- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, troubleshooting, and application requirements.

- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server.

- Support data migration, validation, reconciliation, and database-related activities.

- Troubleshoot application, integration, workflow, and database issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, QA teams, product teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.

- Support implementation of engineering workflows aligned with organizational processes and compliance requirements.

- Prepare technical documentation, configuration specifications, and operational procedures.

- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation, and optimization of ALM and engineering processes.

Requirements :

- 6 - 11 years of experience in software development, ALM engineering, application development, or related roles.

- Hands-on experience with Codebeamer, Polarion, or other ALM/requirements management platforms such as Jama, Jira, or DOORS NG.

- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server.

- Good understanding of SDLC, requirements management, traceability, and systems engineering workflows.

- Experience with ALM platform configuration, customization, workflow management, reporting, or integrations.

- Experience with APIs and application integrations would be an advantage.

- Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, aerospace, or other safety-critical domains is preferred.

- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and ISO 26262 would be an advantage.
