Virtusa - Arbortext Developer - Content Management System

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Arbortext / PLCMS Developer to design, develop, configure, and support enterprise Product Lifecycle Content Management (PLCMS) solutions using Windchill Arbortext, DITA XML, and related content-publishing technologies. The role will focus on improving authoring, content reuse, translation, publishing, and content delivery processes while ensuring scalability, consistency, and compliance across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, configure, and support enterprise PLCMS and XML-based content management solutions.

- Develop and maintain solutions using Windchill Arbortext, Arbortext Editor, and Arbortext Styler.

- Design and implement DITA XML-based authoring and publishing workflows in line with content-management and reuse requirements.

- Develop and maintain XML templates, schemas, content structures, and authoring standards.

- Establish authoring practices aligned with DITA standards and organizational content-governance requirements.

- Develop and modify Arbortext Styler stylesheets for publishing content to formats such as PDF and HTML.

- Customize Arbortext Editor functionality, templates, menus, dialogs, and authoring behavior based on business requirements.

- Configure and support integration between Arbortext Editor/Styler and Windchill or other CMS/PLCMS platforms.

- Configure content bursting, profiling, metadata, publishing, transformation, and automated content-delivery rules.

- Develop and maintain XML transformations using XSLT, XPath, and XQuery.

- Support content validation using XML Schema (XSD) and related XML technologies.

- Design and optimize content-publishing workflows to improve authoring efficiency, content reuse, translation readiness, and publishing turnaround time.

- Support translation-management workflows using Windchill and Arbortext.

- Troubleshoot content, publishing, authoring, integration, and transformation issues and perform root-cause analysis.

- Work with content authors and business users to understand requirements and implement practical authoring and publishing solutions.

- Create user guides and conduct training on XML authoring, templates, publishing processes, and content-management tools.

- Support application upgrades, configuration changes, deployments, and production issues within the PLCMS environment.

- Maintain technical documentation covering templates, configurations, publishing rules, integrations, and operating procedures.

- Collaborate with global business, IT, engineering, and content teams to drive continuous improvement in content-management processes.

Required Skills :

- 5 - 10 years of experience in PLCMS, Arbortext, XML publishing, content-management systems, or related technologies.

- Strong hands-on experience with Windchill Arbortext, Arbortext Editor, and Arbortext Styler.

- Strong working knowledge of DITA XML, XML Schema (XSD), XSLT, XPath, and XQuery.

- Experience designing and implementing enterprise content authoring and publishing solutions.

- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining XML templates and authoring standards.

- Strong experience developing and modifying Arbortext Styler stylesheets for PDF and HTML publishing.

- Experience customizing Arbortext Editor based on business and authoring requirements.

- Experience integrating Arbortext solutions with CMS/PLCMS platforms, particularly Windchill.

- Experience configuring bursting, profiling, publishing workflows, transformations, and automated content delivery.

- Understanding of DITA content modelling, content reuse, metadata, and structured authoring.

- Experience supporting translation-management processes within Windchill/Arbortext environments.

- Good understanding of Windchill business administration, system administration, configuration, and environment management.

- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical skills.

- Good understanding of software development and deployment practices.

- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with globally distributed technical and business teams.
