VIAVI Solutions - Technical Program Manager

Job Overview :

We're looking for an experienced and dynamic Technical Program Manager to lead complex projects focused on IP, Transport, and Cloud solutions. You'll be instrumental in delivering inventory, topology, performance, and fault management solutions, acting as the key bridge between technical teams and stakeholders. This role demands a strong background in networking technologies, cloud infrastructure, project management methodologies, and exceptional communication skills.

Job Responsibilities :

Project Delivery & Leadership :

- Align with internal development teams, external vendors, and customer stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of technical requirements.

- Manage and drive Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new opportunities, showcasing technical capabilities to stakeholders.

- Oversee 2-3 small to medium-scale projects with high business value, ensuring all aspects of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and project delivery adhere to set audit standards.

- Lead cross-functional technical project teams, ensuring on-time completion and continuous process improvement.

Technical Documentation & Validation :

- Coordinate with the development team for PoC/project requirements, and technically validate modules before customer delivery.

- Conduct product demonstrations and manage UAT (User Acceptance Testing) submissions with customers.

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement :

- Regularly interact with customers to gather project inputs, feedback, and new technical requirements.

- Provide crucial pre-sales support, leveraging technical expertise for new RFI/RFPs (Request for

Information/Proposals) and emphasizing strong technical communication skills.

Operational & Process Management :

- Apply expert knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to maintain project control.

- Oversee end-to-end projects in Application Development, Application Deployment, Infrastructure, or Cyber domains, including precise estimation of time, resources, and costs.

Requirements :

Experience & Education :

- 10-15 years of experience in roles related to IP transport, IT, and network administration.

- PMP or SCRUM certification is advantageous.

Networking & Protocol Expertise :

- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with routers/switches from multiple vendors.

- Extensive experience in MPLS, L2, L3, VPLS, EVPN, and ISP technologies.

- Expertise in implementing and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols.

- Hands-on experience in configuring, designing, and troubleshooting L2/L3 protocols.

System & Cloud Proficiency :

- Familiarity with SNMP, Netconf, Restconf, RestAPI, gNMI, FTP, Corba NBI, SOAP API, and SSH.

- Proficient in various monitoring and visualization tools like VMware, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Nagios, and Datadog.

- Exposure to designing and deploying data center networks, SDN/NFV technologies, and overlay networking.

- Knowledge of best practices for discovery, monitoring, management, and control of IP networks and server infrastructure.

Technical Operations & Automation :

- Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python programming.
