Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team (Java, PL/SQL, QA, DevOps) with clear ownership, accountability, and delivery focus.

- Establish prioritization and escalation paths to reduce dependency on senior management and contain escalations within engineering.

- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery with emphasis on quality, timelines, and operational efficiency.

- Provide hands-on technical guidance in Java, database systems (Oracle/PL-SQL), and architecture planning/design reviews.

- Align engineering execution with strategic IT objectives and long-term technology roadmap.

- Implement governance for progress tracking, visibility (Jira, MoM), incident RCA, and release management.

- Drive process improvements to shift effort from operations to strategic initiatives; manage risks and unblock teams proactively.

Qualifications :

- 8- 12 years in software development with 3+ years in engineering/people management.

- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, database architecture (Oracle/PL-SQL), and system design.

- Proven track record in project delivery, technical oversight, and architecture governance.

- Working knowledge of cloud, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

- Healthcare/compliance (HIPAA, SOC2) is good to have.
