Key Responsibilities:
- Build and scale a high-impact user research practice, enabling continuous user discovery across the product lifecycle.
- Plan and execute both generative and evaluative research, including:
1. User interviews
2. Usability testing
3. Surveys
4. Contextual inquiries
5. Diary studies
6. Concept validation
7. Customer journey mapping
- Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and business leaders to embed research into product planning and prioritization.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to uncover user needs, pain points, behaviors, and emerging opportunities.
- Develop actionable research deliverables including personas, journey maps, insight reports, opportunity frameworks, and strategic recommendations.
- Present research findings through compelling storytelling, influencing product direction and executive decision-making.
- Mentor junior researchers and promote research best practices across cross-functional teams.
- Improve research operations by developing scalable processes, templates, repositories, and research governance.
- Champion inclusive, accessible, and evidence-based product experiences.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience conducting end-to-end UX research within product organizations.
- Proven expertise in both generative (discovery) and evaluative (validation) research methodologies.
- Strong experience synthesizing research into clear, actionable insights that influence product and design decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to influence product strategy through data-driven customer insights.
- Experience collaborating with Product, Design, Engineering, and cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
- Proficiency with research and collaboration tools such as:
1. UserTesting
2. Qualtrics
3. Dovetail
4. Maze
5. Lookback
6. Optimal Workshop
7. Miro
8. Figma
9. Axure
10. Or equivalent platforms.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Design, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Portfolio showcasing research projects that influenced product strategy, user experience, or business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building or scaling UX research programs within high-growth startups or technology companies.
- Familiarity with mixed-methods research combining qualitative and quantitative insights.
- Experience establishing research repositories and knowledge management systems.
- Strong understanding of accessibility, inclusive design, and human-centered design principles.
- Experience mentoring researchers and fostering a research-driven product culture.
