Unix System Administrator:

Role:

Unix/Linux System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and manage Unix/Linux systems, primarily AIX and RHEL.

- Manage physical/virtual servers, system performance, and availability.

- Handle user accounts, permissions, LDAP/NIS/PAM authentication.

- Develop and maintain Bash, Perl, and Python scripts for automation.

- Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and security management.

- Manage backup/recovery, troubleshooting, and L3 incident resolution.

- Support networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, NFS, SAN/NAS.

- Perform RCA for critical incidents and maintain technical documentation.

- Work with application, development, and infrastructure teams.

Must-Have Skills:

- AIX, RHEL/Linux, Unix Administration, Shell Scripting, Bash, Perl, Python, Networking, NFS, SAN/NAS, Backup & Recovery, Troubleshooting

Good to Have:

- Ansible/Puppet/Chef, VMware/KVM, Nagios/Zabbix, AWS/Azure/GCP, ITIL/Incident & Change Management
