Job Title : Senior Engineering Manager
Role Overview :
We are looking for a deeply technical, hands-on Senior Engineering Manager who can build scalable systems while leading a high-performing engineering team.
This is not a pure people-management role - the expectation is 30 - 50% hands-on technical contribution, alongside mentoring responsibilities and delivery ownership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and build scalable, high-availability systems
- Lead system design and ensure high code quality standards
- Own production reliability and performance outcomes
- Manage and mentor a team of 5+ engineers
- Drive hiring, execution planning, and predictable delivery
- Establish engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, automation)
Required Qualifications :
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering
- 1+ year managing a team of 5+ engineers
- Strong backend development experience
- Proven experience designing distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and SQL/NoSQL databases
- Experience working with AWS, caching mechanisms, and messaging systems
- Strong production ownership and debugging expertise
Good to Have :
- Fintech, payments, or lending domain experience
- Experience with event-driven architecture
- Kubernetes experience
- Observability practices and performance optimization experience
