About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Head of Technology - Payment Services to provide strong technology leadership within the Transaction & Trade Banking (TTB) domain.

The role will be responsible for the technology strategy, delivery, operations, resilience and continuous modernisation of critical Transaction Banking and Payment Services. The incumbent will work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders across geographies and lead large, distributed technology teams.

This is a strategic leadership position requiring a strong understanding of Transaction Banking, CIB, Payments, technology delivery and mission-critical banking environments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define and implement technology strategies aligned with business objectives, architectural roadmaps and enterprise priorities.

- Own the technology delivery and operational performance of critical Transaction Banking and Payment Services.

- Ensure mission-critical services are highly available, reliable, secure and operating within defined enterprise risk tolerances.

- Lead technology change and run functions across a complex, highly integrated technology environment.

- Drive modernisation, simplification and continuous improvement of the technology estate.

- Lead and mentor large, multi-location technology teams across India and international locations.

- Develop workforce strategies, optimise team structures and build technology capabilities for future business requirements.

- Drive technology investments and transformation initiatives, prioritising speed, cost and quality.

- Own technology operational budgets, financial forecasting and ongoing cost optimisation.

- Provide operational oversight including incident management, service recovery, risk remediation and service assurance.

- Act as a senior escalation point for critical technology and service issues.

- Partner with business leaders, product owners, architects, technology executives and cross-functional teams to deliver strategic outcomes.

- Manage strategic technology suppliers and partners, ensuring performance, governance, risk and commercial objectives are met.

- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, service and scheme obligations.

- Drive productivity, engineering excellence and adoption of modern technology practices.

- Lead cultural change and foster a high-performance, customer-focused technology organisation.

What We're Looking For :

- 15+ years of overall technology experience, with significant technology management and leadership exposure.

- Strong experience in Banking / Financial Services, preferably across CIB and Transaction Banking.

- Strong understanding of Transaction Banking, Payments and related technology ecosystems.

- Proven experience leading large, geographically distributed technology teams.

- Strong track record across both technology change and run/operations.

- Extensive experience with Agile software development, modern engineering practices and tooling.

- Experience working in DevOps environments and complex, highly integrated technology landscapes.

- Demonstrated experience operating and transforming mission-critical banking systems.

- Strong understanding of digital technologies, analytics and business process-driven technology solutions.

- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple technology domains and topologies.

- Excellent communication, leadership and relationship-building capabilities.

- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing technology budgets and suppliers.

- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, modernisation and simplification.

- Strategic mindset with strong judgement, resilience and the ability to operate effectively in a complex environment.

Education :

- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Information Technology, Commerce, Business or Economics is preferred. A postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
