Technical Program Manager (TPM) - Retail / POS :

Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly experienced Technical Program Manager with a strong technical background and extensive experience in Retail Systems and POS (Point of Sale).

The candidate should have strong knowledge of technical architecture, Retail POS / Store systems, eCommerce platforms, software development and enterprise technology delivery.

Technical expertise and POS / Retail domain experience are mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage medium to large-scale, cross-divisional and multi-year technology projects.

- Own end-to-end project delivery including requirements, design, development, testing and implementation.

- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies.

- Identify and proactively manage cross-project dependencies and technical risks.

- Communicate project / program status to stakeholders, sponsors and senior leadership.

- Support strategic technology roadmap and portfolio planning.

- Drive implementation of new technologies and vendor integrations.

- Conduct technical walkthroughs with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and architecture standards.

- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, QA, Business and other cross-functional teams.

- Ensure smooth and stable production operations.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization and operational efficiency.

- Support organizational change management and complex technology implementations.

Mandatory Technical & Domain Skills :

- Strong Technical Program Management experience.

- Strong understanding of technical architecture and enterprise systems.

- Strong experience in Retail Systems / POS.

- Understanding of Store / POS systems vs. eCommerce platforms, including key similarities and differences.

- Experience in Retail technology development and delivery.

- Experience working with :

1. Unix / Linux-based systems

2. Python

3. J2EE Application Servers

4. Clustered Database Systems

5. Source Control Systems

- Strong understanding of software development and technology delivery processes.

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field, or equivalent technology experience.

- 10+ years of Project / Program Management experience.

- 10+ years of software project design, development and implementation experience.

- 5+ years of Retail Systems / POS development and delivery experience.

- Experience creating and executing implementation strategies for complex systems.

- Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, Lean or other delivery methodologies.

- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.

- Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high sense of urgency
