AS/400 Technical Lead Data Extraction

Location : Hyderabad

Shift : 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced AS/400 Technical Lead Data Extraction with 810 years of hands-on experience in IBM i / AS/400 development, support, database, and data extraction. The candidate should have strong expertise in RPG, CL, DB2/400, SQL/400, QUERY/400, and AS/400 database structures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform data extraction from AS/400 / IBM i systems based on business requirements.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

- Design, develop, modify, and support AS/400 applications.

- Work extensively with DB2/400, SQL/400, QUERY/400, and AS/400 utilities.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.

- Work with DDS Physical Files, Logical Files, SQL Tables/Files, Stored Procedures, and database objects.

- Apply advanced ILE concepts, including procedures, service programs, and functions.

- Troubleshoot application and database issues and provide technical solutions.

- Perform database and application performance tuning and implement best practices.

- Prepare technical design documents, estimation documents, and technical specifications for development changes.

- Interact with business stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve technical queries.

- Design and develop solutions in accordance with approved technical specifications.

- Provide development and production support as required.

- Participate in AS/400 modernization initiatives where applicable.

- Follow development, coding, testing, documentation, and support standards.

Mandatory Skills :

- 8 to 10 years of strong hands-on experience in AS/400 / IBM i.

- Strong experience in RPG III / RPG IV / RPGLE / Free Form RPG.

- Strong knowledge of CL / CLLE.

- Strong hands-on experience with DB2/400.

- Excellent knowledge of SQL/400 and complex SQL queries.

- Hands-on experience with QUERY/400 and AS/400 data extraction utilities.

- Strong understanding of DDS Physical Files and Logical Files.

- Experience with SQL Tables/Files, Stored Procedures, and database objects.

- Strong understanding of ILE concepts, including procedures, service programs, and functions.

- Experience in application and database performance tuning.

- Ability to prepare technical specifications, design documents, and effort estimations.

- Strong requirement analysis and problem-solving skills.

- Good communication skills with the ability to interact with business and technical stakeholders.

- Willingness to work in the 1:00 PM10:30 PM shift.

Good to Have :

- Experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain domain.

- Exposure to AS/400 / IBM i modernization projects.

- Experience in application migration, modernization, or legacy transformation initiatives.

- Experience working in production support and enhancement projects.
