Job Description : Tech Project Managers (PM) / Tech Business Analysts (BA) Core Banking CoE
Role Overview :
The bank is establishing a Core Banking Centre of Excellence (CoE) to drive governance, standardization, and efficient delivery of core banking initiatives.
We are seeking experienced Technical Project Managers and Technical Business Analysts with strong expertise in Core Banking platforms (preferably Oracle FLEXCUBE) and proven experience in managing large-scale banking programs, releases, and change initiatives.
The role will focus on program governance, change management, release coordination, and stakeholder alignment across business and IT teams in a remote working model.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Program & Project Management (Primary Focus) :
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Core Banking programs, upgrades, and enhancements
- Develop and manage program plans, milestones, dependencies, and risks
- Establish governance structures including steering committees, reporting, and escalation frameworks
- Coordinate across business units, IT teams, vendors, and system integrators
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and regulatory commitments
2. Core Banking Change Management :
- Govern the end-to-end change lifecycle for core banking systems
- Conduct impact analysis across modules such as CASA, Lending, Payments, GL, Customer Management
- Facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings and approvals
- Ensure traceability across requirements, testing, and deployment
- Manage UAT planning, execution, and business sign-offs
3. Release & Deployment Governance :
- Plan and manage release cycles across SIT, UAT, and Production environments
- Define release calendars, cutover plans, and rollback strategies
- Ensure release readiness through structured checkpoints and stakeholder alignment
- Minimize business disruption during releases
- Drive post-release stabilization and issue resolution
4. Version & Build Oversight (Governance Focus) :
- Define and enforce version control and release management standards
- Ensure proper tracking of changes across multiple releases
- Manage dependencies across parallel projects and releases
- Coordinate code freeze timelines and release branching strategies
5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management :
- Act as a key interface between business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors (e.g., Oracle, SIs)
- Align on scope, priorities, and delivery timelines
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and delivery commitments
Role-Specific Expectations :
- Proven experience in Core Banking platforms (FLEXCUBE preferred)
- Deep understanding of banking products and processes (Deposits, Loans, Payments, GL, etc.)
- Experience in core banking implementations, upgrades, or transformation programs
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (RBI, audit, risk controls)
- Exposure to multi-entity or international banking environments
- Strong expertise in multi-stream program delivery and governance
- Experience managing large-scale, vendor-led core banking programs
- Strong background in program/project management and change governance
- Ability to manage senior stakeholders, steering committees, and governance forums
- Familiarity with structured delivery models (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Expertise in Core Banking functional analysis and requirement lifecycle management
- Strong experience in developing BRDs, FRDs, process maps, and impact assessments
- Ability to bridge business requirements with technology delivery teams in complex, multi-system environments
- Structured, detail-oriented mindset aligned to CoE standards and governance practices
- Ability to operate effectively in high-complexity delivery environments
- Flexibility to align with project timelines and critical release cycles
- 8-12 years of experience in banking technology programs with core banking exposure
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CBAP
Tools & Platforms Exposure (Governance / Working Knowledge) :
Expected at a working or oversight level (not deep hands-on engineering)
- CI/CD Tools : Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps
- Version Control Systems : Git, Bitbucket
- Release Management Tools : XL Deploy, UrbanCode Deploy (or similar)
- Tracking & Collaboration Tools : JIRA, Confluence
Ability to :
- Interpret pipeline and release status updates
- Track defects, change requests, and delivery progress via JIRA
- Collaborate using Confluence and shared documentation tools
- Work with DevOps teams to ensure adherence to release processes
