Role Overview :

We are looking for a hands-on Tech Lead with strong expertise in Python (Django) and PHP, along with solid exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate should have experience building scalable web applications, designing APIs, leading small teams, and owning end-to-end technical delivery in a fast-paced product environment.

This is not a coordination role - we are looking for someone who is deep into coding, reviews, architects, and drives execution with ownership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead backend architecture and development using Python (Django) and PHP

- Design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance REST APIs

- Own end-to-end feature delivery from design to deployment

- Work closely with Product and Tech team to translate business requirements into technical solutions

- Ensure code quality through reviews, standards, and best practices

- Deploy and manage applications on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront, Lambda, etc.)

- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices

- Optimize application performance and database queries

- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system reliability

- Mentor junior developers and maximise engineering velocity

Required Skills :

- 5-7 years of backend development experience

- Strong hands-on experience with Python (Django framework) and PHP (Laravel or similar frameworks)

- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices architecture

- Solid experience with AWS cloud services

- Experience with MySQL/MongoDB and database optimization

- Hands-on with Linux environments

- Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines.

- Understanding of security best practices and performance optimizations for web applications

Good to Have :

- Exposure to AI agents, LLM integrations or RAG-based systems

- Experience in scalable edtech/E-commerce platforms

- Knowledge of caching systems (Redis/Memcached)

- Understanding of frontend frameworks (React/Angular) for better collaboration

- Experience working in startup or product-based environments
