Role L Viptela SD-WAN Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Viptela SD-WAN Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and managing Cisco Viptela SD-WAN solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong networking background, proficiency with enterprise WAN architectures, and experience in supporting large-scale SD-WAN environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Cisco Viptela SD-WAN infrastructure
- Configure and maintain SD-WAN components including vManage, vSmart, vBond, and vEdge/cEdge routers
- Integrate SD-WAN solutions with existing enterprise WAN, firewalls, and cloud platforms
- Create and manage SD-WAN policies including traffic routing, segmentation, and QoS
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity, performance, and policy-related issues
- Monitor network performance and availability using vManage dashboards and analytics
- Support firmware upgrades, patches, and regular health checks across SD-WAN infrastructure
- Collaborate with network engineering, security, and application teams for seamless delivery
- Document configurations, runbooks, network diagrams, and change management processes
Required Skills & Experience :
- Minimum 3 years of experience in SD-WAN engineering, with at least 2 years on Cisco Viptela
- Strong understanding of vManage, vSmart, vBond, and Edge device configurations
- Solid knowledge of IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and WAN technologies
- Experience with application-aware routing, traffic steering, and path conditioning
- Familiarity with network security, IPSec VPNs, and ACLs in SD-WAN context
- Experience in troubleshooting using CLI, packet captures, and vManage tools
- Proficiency in creating and applying control and data policies
- Hands-on experience with cloud integration in SD-WAN deployments
Preferred / Bonus Skills :
- Cisco SD-WAN certification
- Scripting knowledge for SD-WAN automation
- Experience with ZTP
- Exposure to Cisco Umbrella, ThousandEyes, or Stealthwatch integrations
- Experience working in managed service provider or multi-tenant environments
