TECEZE - L3 Backup Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled L3 Backup Engineer with deep expertise in PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) and Veritas NetBackup to join our infrastructure support team.

The role involves providing advanced troubleshooting, backup optimization, and operational excellence across enterprise backup environments, particularly for SQL database backups.

Key Responsibilities :

- Serve as the primary L3-level escalation point for backup operations, with a focus on PPDM and Veritas NetBackup.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

- Optimize backup policies and job configurations to ensure high reliability and efficiency.

- Lead or support the migration and transition of SQL database backup operations to PPDM.

- Mentor and conduct knowledge transfers for L2 and L1 support teams, enhancing overall team capabilities.

- Ensure compliance with SLAs and internal policies for backup and recovery operations.

- Generate and analyze backup success/failure reports, identifying patterns and proposing preventive measures.

- Work with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and implement scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline backup processes.

- Assist in capacity planning, performance tuning, and documentation of the backup environment.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Strong hands-on experience with PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM) and Veritas NetBackup in enterprise environments.

- Deep knowledge of SQL database backup and recovery processes, including associated troubleshooting.

- Proficiency in scripting/automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

- Solid understanding of backup infrastructure, storage technologies, and disaster recovery best practices.

- Ability to analyze logs, reports, and backup job histories to identify and resolve issues quickly.

- Experience working in large-scale, mission-critical environments with strict uptime and recovery objectives.

- Familiarity with additional backup and replication tools is advantageous.

- Experience with ITSM tools and ticketing systems
