The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver who can design, develop, and scale high-performance applications while collaborating closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams.
As an SDE-3, you will play a critical role in building scalable systems, owning complex modules end-to-end, improving code quality, and mentoring junior developers.
Key Responsibilities :
Software Development & Architecture :
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-performance software applications
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex features and modules
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and system designs
- Participate in low-level and high-level design discussions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
System Design & Performance :
- Build and optimize distributed systems and microservices
- Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues
- Contribute to architectural improvements and technical decision-making
Collaboration & Code Quality :
- Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and UX teams
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring coding standards and best practices
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices across the team
Mentorship & Ownership :
- Mentor junior engineers and guide them on design and coding practices
- Take ownership of assigned services and ensure production stability
- Actively contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Technical Skills :
- 45 years of hands-on software development experience
- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages:
- Java, Python, C++, Go, or JavaScript (Node.js)
Solid understanding of :
- Data Structures & Algorithms
- Object-Oriented Design & Design Patterns
- Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience with Git and version control workflows
Good to Have :
- Experience in high-scale or consumer-facing products
- Knowledge of event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
- Exposure to system design for scale
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
- Prior experience mentoring or leading small technical teams
Education :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
