Role Overview :
The Business Analyst for DPDP Compliance will serve as a critical bridge between regulatory requirements and technical implementation. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, and data governance, to ensure that the organization's data processing activities align with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
You will be responsible for translating complex regulatory mandates into actionable business requirements, ensuring that data privacy is embedded into the lifecycle of digital products and services. Your work will directly influence the company's risk posture and ensure seamless compliance for our global client base.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive gap analyses to identify discrepancies between current data processing workflows and DPDP regulatory requirements.
- Translate complex legal and privacy mandates into clear, technical business requirement documents for engineering and development teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to map data flows and implement robust data protection impact assessments.
- Lead the documentation of data lifecycle management processes to ensure transparency and accountability in data handling.
- Monitor and report on compliance metrics to senior leadership, providing actionable insights to mitigate privacy-related risks.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to foster a culture of data privacy and compliance awareness across internal teams.
Required Skillset :
- Possess 7 to 12 years of professional experience in business analysis, with a specialized focus on data privacy and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrate deep functional knowledge of the DPDP Act and global data protection standards, including the ability to interpret legal requirements into technical specifications.
- Exhibit strong analytical capabilities to evaluate complex data ecosystems and design privacy-by-design solutions.
- Communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to drive consensus on compliance initiatives.
- Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to manage multiple compliance workstreams in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
- Hold a relevant degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, supplemented by industry-recognized certifications in data privacy or business analysis.
