Swiggy-s StoreFront Engineering team builds customer-facing platforms that power personalized discovery and seamless purchasing experiences across multiple product lines such asFood, Toing, Dineout and Instamart. The team enables this by developing thoughtfully crafted mobile applications, smart catalog systems, relevance-based search, intent-driven merchandising, checkout orchestration, and scalable payment systems.

We are looking for a Mobile Lead Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who will drive the quality strategy for mobile applications across these platforms. The role requires strong expertise inmobile automation, performance engineering, security validation, and AI-driven testing practices.

As a Lead SDET, you will be a technical individual contributor responsible for defining and implementing the end-to-end testing strategy across functional and non-functional areas for one or more mobile modules. You will lead initiatives aroundmobile automation frameworks, reliability testing, performance monitoring, and security validation to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

In this role, you will also explore innovative approaches such as GenAI-powered testing, intelligent automation, and self-healing frameworks to optimize the test strategy and maximize ROI from automation investments.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and platform teams to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure mobile experiences for millions of Swiggy users.

What qualities are we looking for-

Mobile Automation & Quality Engineering :

- Design and implement scalable mobile automation frameworks for Android and iOS using tools like Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or similar frameworks.

- Drive automation-first testing strategy across functional, regression, and integration testing.

- Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).

- Ensure high automation coverage for critical user journeys in mobile applications.

- Mentor QA engineers on automation best practices and framework design.

Performance & Reliability Testing :

- Monitor and analyze mobile performance metrics, including :

a. App launch time

b. Frame rendering (FPS)

c. CPU and memory consumption

d. Network latency

e. Battery usage

- Identify and troubleshoot memory leaks, ANR issues, and app crashes using tools such as :

a. Android Profiler

b. LeakCanary

c. Xcode Instruments

- Work closely with developers to improve app stability and performance benchmarks.

GenAI & AI-Driven Testing :

- Leverage GenAI tools and AI-assisted testing frameworks to improve QA efficiency.

- Utilize AI for : Test case generation / Test data generation / Automation script creation /Intelligent test maintenance

- Evaluate emerging tools such as self-healing framework, AI-powered locators, and intelligent Snapshot comparison tools

What will you get to do here :

- 7 to 9 years of experience in Software Testing / SDET roles with strong focus on mobile applications.

- Hands-on experience with mobile automation frameworks (Appium / Espresso / XCUITest).

- Strong programming skills in Java / Kotlin / Python / JavaScript.

- Experience with CI/CD integration for automation pipelines.

- Experience in mobile performance analysis and debugging memory leaks.

- Experience using GenAI tools to enhance QA workflows and productivity.

- Strong understanding of API testing, network debugging, and backend integration testing.

- Experience with crash monitoring tools (Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry, new relics , snow flakes, etc.).

- Client-facing Mobile Applications (Android & iOS)

- Mobile performance, stability, and memory management

- Security validation for mobile and API integrations

- Automation-first testing strategy across CI/CD pipelines

- AI-driven testing and quality intelligence

Good to Have :

- Experience with device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, Firebase Test Lab).

- Experience with observability tools and analytics dashboards.

- Knowledge of Chaos testing or reliability engineering for mobile systems.

- Exposure to AI-driven testing platforms or self-healing automation frameworks.
