Role Overview :

We are looking for a Senior Technical Release Manager to join our Hyderabad office. This role will be responsible for managing all production releases across our enterprise platform and customer-specific solutions.

Unlike traditional release roles, this position serves as a Technical Release Governor in a complex hybrid environment consisting of both multi-tenant products and multi-instance siloed environments.

As we scale our carrier customer base, we are looking to adopt best of the breed release practices.

You will be the single point of accountability for replacing high-intensity manual interventions in releases with a systematic, technically rigorous process.

You will ensure releases are delivered with quality, predictability, and efficiency while bridging the gap between engineering, QA, product, and client support teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Release Lifecycle Leadership : Own and manage the end-to-end release lifecycle for all production deployments, including core platform production updates and customer-specific customizations. Define, document, and enforce release management processes and standards. Create and maintain the release calendar, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.

- Technical Gatekeeping : Conduct deep-dive release readiness reviews. You will audit "Release Manifests" by validating steps such as SQL migrations or PDF template migrations, Temporal workflow versioning, Kafka schemas, and AWS resource configurations.

- A good overall understanding of deployment architecture in AWS is essential for this role.

- Environment Governance : Manage "Instance Parity" across our AWS multi-instance architecture to prevent "Environmental Drift" and ensure customer-specific secrets and variables match our global standards.

- Cross-Functional Orchestration : Facilitate formal "Go/No-Go" decisions by tracking a global checklist that includes technical and non-technical readiness.

- Risk Mitigation : Identify, document, and mitigate technical sequencing risks (e.g., database locks or stateful workflow conflicts) associated with production releases.

- Continuous Improvement : Monitor release performance, generate and provide metrics and reports and drive the transition from manual coordination to Automated Production Quality Gates within our release pipelines.

Required Qualifications & Experience :

- 10+ years of overall technical experience, with a background in software engineering, SRE, or backend operations.

- 5+ years of direct release management experience in a complex, enterprise hybrid SaaS environment (Multi-tenant & Multi-instance).

- Cloud-Native Expertise : Expert-level knowledge of AWS (EKS, RDS, Secrets Manager, IAM, S3, MSK) and the ability to audit infrastructure-level configurations.

- Stack Fluency : Demonstrated familiarity with Typescript, PHP, Go-lang, and Node.js ecosystems. You must understand the deployment nuances of each.

- Modern Orchestration : Hands-on experience or strong knowledge of Temporal (stateful workflows) and Kafka (event streaming). You understand the risks of deploying to "in-flight" asynchronous processes.

- Database Proficiency : Strong proficiency in MySQL and Postgres, specifically in auditing complex migration scripts and data sequencing.

- Containerization Mastery : Deep understanding of Kubernetes (K8s) manifest auditing and deployment patterns (Canary, Blue-Green, or Rolling Updates).

- Communication & Gravitas : Excellent stakeholder management skills with the professional authority to enforce discipline and halt releases if technical or business criteria are not met.

Preferred/Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Experience in the insurance or financial services domain (or other regulated industries).

- Knowledge of security, compliance (SOC2/ISO), or audit processes as they relate to release operations.

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

- Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles such as Error Budgets and SLIs/SLOs.
