Role Overview :

We are looking for a Storage Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) and backup platforms, combined with real automation expertise using scripting and infrastructure automation tools.

The ideal candidate should be capable of automating storage and backup operations, building reusable workflows, and reducing manual efforts across enterprise infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Storage & Backup Operations :

- Manage and support enterprise storage environments:

- SAN/NAS (EMC, NetApp, HPE, Pure Storage, etc.)

Administer backup platforms :

Veritas NetBackup/Commvault/Dell EMC Data Domain/Avamar

Perform :

- LUN provisioning, zoning, replication, and migrations

- Backup configuration, restore, DR drills, and troubleshooting

Automation & Engineering (Mandatory) :

- Design and develop automation solutions for storage and backup operations

Build and maintain :

- Ansible playbooks

- Automation pipelines/workflows

Automate :

- Provisioning (LUNs, volumes, shares)

- Backup job creation & monitoring

- Health checks, reporting, alerting

Integrate automation with :

- REST APIs (storage & backup tools)

- ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred)

Scripting & DevOps Practices :

Develop scripts using :

- Python / Shell / PowerShell

Work with :

- Git for version control

- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)

- Follow DevOps practices for infrastructure automation

Monitoring & Optimization :

- Implement automated monitoring and alerting solutions

- Optimize storage performance and capacity using automation

Create dashboards/reports for :

- Utilization

- Performance

- Backup success/failure trends

Disaster Recovery & Compliance :

- Automate DR processes and validation workflows

- Support DR drills and ensure backup compliance

- Maintain audit-ready documentation and automation logs

Mandatory Skills :

MUST HAVE (Strict) :

Strong hands-on experience in :

- SAN/NAS storage (EMC / NetApp / HPE / Pure)

- Backup tools (NetBackup / Commvault / Avamar / Data Domain)

Proven experience in :

- Automation (Ansible / scripting)

- Building playbooks / pipelines / workflows

Scripting knowledge :

- Python / Shell / PowerShell

- Experience with REST APIs for automation

Good to Have :

- Cloud exposure (AWS / Azure / GCP)

- Kubernetes / OpenShift storage integration

- Monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus)

- ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
