About the Role :

We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Engineer Java to lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance fintech products. This role requires strong technical depth, architectural thinking, and the ability to mentor engineers while working closely with product and business teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and build scalable backend systems using Java and related frameworks

- Own end-to-end architecture for critical fintech platforms and services

- Drive best practices in coding, design patterns, security, and performance optimization

- Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Data teams to deliver robust solutions

- Lead technical decision-making and architecture reviews

- Mentor and guide engineers; raise overall engineering standards

- Ensure systems are secure, compliant, and reliable for financial transactions

- Contribute to CI/CD, automation, and cloud adoption initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 12+ years of experience in backend development with strong expertise in Java

- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs

- Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture

- Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL)

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)

- Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Familiarity with security standards and best practices in fintech

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Good to Have :

- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or banking platforms

- Understanding of compliance and regulatory environments

- Prior experience in a product-based startup
