SQL Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases across our enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for database performance tuning, backups, recovery, and ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of SQL databases.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) instances.

- Perform database administration tasks including backup, recovery, and migration.

- Monitor and optimize database performance, indexing, and query execution plans.

- Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions like AlwaysOn, Replication, Log Shipping, and Mirroring.

- Perform regular database health checks, security audits, and patch management.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and L2/L3 escalations.

- Collaborate with developers for query optimization, schema design, and stored procedures.

- Ensure database security, user access controls, and compliance with company policies.

- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and storage optimization.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 58 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.

- Strong hands-on experience in MS SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 administration.

- Expertise in backup & recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions, and performance tuning.

- Strong understanding of T-SQL, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

- Experience with Windows Server environments for SQL deployment and management.

- Familiarity with database monitoring tools like SQL Profiler, Redgate, SolarWinds, or SentryOne.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Azure SQL Databases or AWS RDS for SQL Server.

- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation.

- Familiarity with ITIL processes for incident and change management.

- Exposure to SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS for reporting and ETL
