Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced SAP IS-U ABAP Technical Consultant with 7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development and strong expertise in SAP Industry-Specific Solution for Utilities (IS-U). The candidate should have hands-on experience in developing, enhancing, integrating, and supporting SAP IS-U solutions, with a strong understanding of utilities business processes such as Device Management, Meter Reading, Billing, Invoicing, and FI-CA.

The ideal candidate should have experience in technical design, development, performance optimization, production support, and collaboration with functional and business teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and implement custom solutions using SAP ABAP in the SAP IS-U environment.

- Develop and maintain reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.

- Work extensively with ABAP Objects, Reports, ALV, BAPIs, BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Framework, and Function Modules.

- Develop and enhance SAP IS-U functionalities related to Device Management, Meter Reading, Billing, Invoicing, and FI-CA.

- Work on SAP IS-U-specific objects, function modules, business processes, and standard enhancement points.

- Develop and support interfaces between SAP IS-U and external systems using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Web Services, and file-based integrations.

- Analyze functional specifications and prepare technical specifications and development estimates.

- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, code optimization, and performance tuning.

- Support incident resolution, defect fixing, and change requests in production and non-production environments.

- Work on data migration, data conversion, and mass processing programs related to SAP IS-U.

- Collaborate with SAP IS-U functional consultants, integration teams, and business stakeholders.

- Conduct unit testing, support integration testing and UAT, and ensure adherence to SAP development standards.

- Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, transport management, and release activities.

- Provide technical guidance to junior developers and support knowledge transfer.

Required Technical Skills:

- 7+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, preferably with substantial hands-on experience in SAP IS-U.

- Strong knowledge of ABAP programming, including:

1. Reports, ALV Reports, and Classical/Interactive Reports

2. ABAP Objects and Object-Oriented Programming

3. BAPIs, BAdIs, User Exits, and Enhancement Framework

4. Function Modules, RFCs, and IDocs

5. Smart Forms, SAPscript, and Adobe Forms

6. Data Dictionary (DDIC), internal tables, and Open SQL

7. Debugging, performance tuning, and runtime analysis

- Good understanding of SAP IS-U business processes, including:

1. Device Management and Meter Reading

2. Billing and Invoicing

3. Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable (FI-CA)

4. Business Master Data, such as Business Partner, Contract Account, and Contract

- Experience developing and supporting interfaces with third-party systems.

- Ability to analyze complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.

- Experience in technical documentation, testing, and production support.

- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Utilities or SAP IS-U on SAP S/4HANA.

- Knowledge of CDS Views, AMDP, OData, and modern ABAP development.

- Exposure to SAP Fiori, SAP Gateway, and integration technologies.

- Experience with SAP Workflow and background job processing.

- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, ServiceNow, or similar ticketing tools.

- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or other structured delivery methodologies.
