Role : Solution Architect - JDE (AS/400) / WMi / Supply Chain
Key Responsibilities :
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture across JDE on IBM AS/400 / IBM i, WMi, MIF, and related logistics and supply-chain applications.
- Assess the current application, integration, data, and infrastructure landscape and define scalable and supportable solution designs.
- Lead architecture and design for integrations between JDE and WMi through MIF.
- Understand and document end-to-end data and transaction flows across order management, inventory, warehousing, receiving, picking and packing, shipping, distribution, and transportation and logistics.
- Provide architectural guidance for legacy IBM i / AS/400 environments, including modernization and integration considerations.
- Define interface patterns, data flows, batch-processing strategies, error handling, reconciliation, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.
- Provide technical leadership to developers and ensure adherence to architecture, engineering, and operational standards.
- Lead root-cause analysis for complex issues spanning JDE, MIF, WMi, databases, batch jobs, and downstream systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, performance improvement, and modernization.
- Work closely with supply-chain business teams, infrastructure, ERP, WMS, integration, and operations stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions are resilient, secure, scalable, and operationally supportable.
Required Experience :
- 10+ years of enterprise application and supply-chain technology experience.
- Strong architectural and hands-on experience with JD Edwards running on IBM AS/400 / IBM i.
- Strong understanding of IBM i / AS/400 environments, including DB2 for i, batch processing, job scheduling, file-based interfaces, and legacy integration patterns.
- Experience with RPG, CL, or other IBM i technologies is highly desirable.
- Strong experience with WMi or comparable on-premise Warehouse Management Systems.
- Deep understanding of ERP-to-WMS integration patterns.
- Experience with middleware or integration frameworks; MIF experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, warehouse management, inventory, fulfillment, and supply-chain execution.
- Experience with batch, real-time, API, messaging, and file-based integrations.
- Ability to analyze legacy systems and define practical modernization roadmaps without disrupting core business operations.
- Strong client-facing, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience :
- Retail, CPG, distribution, or large-scale logistics experience.
- Experience with warehouse automation and high-volume distribution centers.
- Familiarity with RF devices, warehouse picking systems, inventory interfaces, ASN, shipment confirmation, and replenishment workflows.
- Experience integrating IBM i / AS/400 applications with modern APIs, cloud platforms, or enterprise integration platforms.
- Exposure to monitoring, observability, DevOps, and automated support practices.
