About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced IBM Sterling OMS Solution Architect with strong expertise in retail and order management systems. The ideal candidate will lead architecture, design, and implementation initiatives for enterprise OMS solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-performing systems.

The role demands strong hands-on experience in IBM Sterling OMS architecture, customization, integrations, and cloud-native deployments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Define end-to-end solution architecture and technical design for IBM Sterling OMS implementations and enhancements.

- Lead architecture discussions and guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and OMS design principles.

- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable and maintainable OMS solutions.

- Drive end-to-end delivery including design, development, deployment, troubleshooting, and documentation.

- Design and oversee integrations between OMS and external enterprise systems such as WMS, ERP, Commerce platforms, TMS, and Inventory systems.

- Review and optimize OMS configurations, APIs, workflows, SDFs, and database extensions.

- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and reliability standards.

- Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical governance activities.

- Estimate project efforts, dependencies, risks, and timelines for OMS initiatives.

- Support Agile delivery practices and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps improvements.

- Mentor technical teams and contribute to reusable frameworks and standardized technical assets.

- Drive cloud-ready and containerized OMS deployments using modern deployment practices.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

Experience :

- 8+ years of experience in IBM Sterling OMS development and architecture.

- Overall 13+ years of IT industry experience.

- Strong experience in Retail and OMS domain is mandatory.

- Prior experience in architect-level responsibilities is required.

Technical Skills :

- Strong expertise in IBM Sterling OMS (v10 preferred):

- Configurations

- Customizations

- Workflows

- APIs

- SDF

- Database extensions

- Advanced Java development experience.

- Strong knowledge of DB2 and Oracle databases including:

- Performance tuning

- Query optimization

- Indexing

Experience with :

- XML

- JSON

- REST APIs

- WebServices

- MQ integrations

- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP (GKE, Artifact Registry, Compute Engine) or equivalent.

- Strong understanding of Git and DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for OMS deployments.

- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

- Experience integrating OMS with cloud-native services and enterprise middleware.

- Strong analytical, communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to mentor teams and drive architectural best practices.
