Role Profile : Solution Architect (BPM + AI + SAP)

Role Purpose :

The Solution Architect is responsible for defining and maintaining high-level solution architectures that support business objectives and align with organisational standards. The role ensures that business requirements are translated into effective, scalable, and secure technology solutions, while providing architectural guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle. The role focuses on BPM platforms, AI-driven solutions, and SAP-integrated enterprise systems.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities :

- Define and own high-level solution architectures for assigned initiatives and business capabilities.

- Design and implement solutions using BPM platforms such as Pega, Camunda, or Appian.

- Integrate AI-driven capabilities such as chatbots, NLP, and intelligent automation into workflows.

- Drive integration with enterprise platforms including SAP (S/4HANA, CRM, Finance, etc.).

- Translate business requirements into clear architectural direction and design principles.

- Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, technology strategies, and governance frameworks.

- Provide architectural guidance and oversight to delivery teams.

- Review and assess solution proposals from internal teams and external partners.

- Identify key risks, assumptions, and dependencies at the solution level.

- Support delivery and change initiatives from an architectural perspective.

Stakeholder & Cross Team Engagement :

- Act as an architectural point of contact for business and delivery stakeholders.

- Collaborate with delivery, platform, security, and operations teams to ensure aligned solutions.

- Facilitate high-level design discussions and architecture reviews.

- Communicate architectural decisions clearly and concisely.

Documentation & Governance :

- Produce and maintain high-level architecture documentation and diagrams.

- Ensure solutions adhere to architectural, security, and compliance principles.

- Support architecture governance forums and design assurance activities.

- Maintain up-to-date and reusable architecture artefacts.

Core Skills & Experience :

- Extensive experience in solution design and enterprise architecture roles.

- Hands-on experience in BPM tools : Pega / Camunda / Appian.

- Strong understanding of AI/automation concepts (NLP, chatbots, decision systems).

- Experience integrating enterprise applications, especially SAP systems.

- Strong knowledge of application, integration, data, and security architecture.

- Experience working with APIs, microservices, and middleware integration.

- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models.

- TOGAF certification (preferred, not mandatory).

- Ability to balance business needs with technical constraints.
