Software Testing Engineer - Manual Testing

Position : Software Testing / QC Engineer

Job Purpose :

Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software products by designing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Test Planning and Execution :

- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on product requirements and technical specifications to ensure complete coverage of functionalities.

Manual and Functional Testing :

- Perform manual testing of software applications to validate functionality, usability, performance, and system integration against defined requirements.

Bug Identification and Reporting :

- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug-tracking tools. Work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution and proper verification of fixes.

Regression Testing :

- Conduct regression testing to ensure that new features, enhancements, or bug fixes do not negatively impact existing system functionalities.

Test Documentation :

- Prepare and maintain test documentation including test cases, test scripts, test reports, and defect logs for future reference and audit purposes.

Collaboration with Development Teams :

- Work closely with developers, product managers, and UX teams to understand system requirements, clarify test scenarios, and ensure quality standards are met.

Quality Assurance Process Improvement :

- Participate in improving testing processes, methodologies, and standards to enhance overall

software quality and testing efficiency.

Automation Support (If Applicable) :

- Assist in creating or maintaining automated test scripts to improve testing coverage and reduce manual testing effort.

Release Validation :

- Perform final validation and quality checks before product releases to ensure the software is stable and ready for deployment.

Functional/Behavioral Skills :

- Strong understanding of software testing concepts and QC methodologies

- Knowledge of SDLC and STLC processes

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Good communication and collaboration skills

- Ability to document and report issues clearly

- Time management and ability to handle multiple testing tasks simultaneously

Qualification/Experience :

Experience : 2 - 3 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Control

Educational Background : Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Technical Knowledge :

- Experience with manual testing and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, etc.)

- Basic understanding of automation tools is an advantage

- Knowledge of web, mobile, or software application testing

- Familiarity with testing methodologies and test case management tools
