Software Development Engineer II - Android Mobile App Applications

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) Android to join our mobile engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in building high-performance applications across both mobile and TV platforms.

You will collaborate in feature development for Android mobile, Android TV (Leanback), and shared logic using Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM). Youll work alongside with leads to deliver seamless user experiences across multiple form factors.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Android applications for both Android Mobile and TV platforms.

- Build and maintain shared codebases using Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) to enable cross-platform logic.

- Lead architecture discussions and drive scalable solutions using modern development practices.

- Implement UI using Jetpack Compose and Leanback components for optimized TV experiences.

- Ensure performance, responsiveness, and quality of the applications on all supported devices.

- Conduct and participate in thorough code reviews and share technical expertise with the team.

- Own features end-to-end, from technical design to release and iteration.

- Collaborate with QA for testing strategies, including unit, UI, and integration testing.

- Actively mentor junior developers and promote a culture of engineering excellence.

Required Qualifications :

- 2+ years of professional Android development experience.

- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Jetpack Compose.

- Experience building for Android TV using Leanback or Compose for TV.

- Proficient in architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture.

- Working knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming.

- Hands-on experience with KMM (Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile) for shared logic across platforms.

- Familiarity with Hilt/Dagger/Koin, Retrofit, Room, and modern Jetpack libraries.

- Experience with unit testing, Espresso/UI testing, and debugging tools.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Exposure to media or streaming applications on Android TV.

- Experience optimizing TV navigation and DPAD interactions.

- Familiarity with KMM integration on the iOS side is a plus.

- Contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs.

- Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools.
