Role Summary :
The Windows Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, support, and continuous improvement of Client Windows Server infrastructure across global environments.
This role ensures stable, secure, and wellperforming systems by executing system engineering best practices, driving automation, managing incidents, and delivering technical leadership across projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Windows Server Engineering & Administration :
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments including AD, DNS, Group Policy, IIS, RDS, File Services, and other core OS features.
- Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, OS hardening, and compliance enforcement across all Windows servers.
- Administer and troubleshoot authentication and authorization systems integrated with Windows infrastructure.
Monitoring, Incident & Problem Management :
- Monitor OS logs, performance metrics, server health, and alerting systems to proactively prevent outages.
- Rapidly respond to and resolve system incidents; participate in oncall rotations as required.
- Lead and contribute to rootcause analyses, problem investigations, and resolution strategies to improve reliability.
Automation & Tooling :
- Automate routine administration tasks using PowerShell or other scripting tools.
- Improve efficiency, consistency, and repeatability of infrastructure operations through scripts, config management, and automation platforms where applicable.
Infrastructure Delivery & Support :
- Support onboarding, decommissioning, and lifecycle management of physical and virtual servers.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional engineering teams (DBA, DevOps, InfoSec, Networking) to deliver stable, secure infrastructure.
- Provide escalation support for missioncritical incidents requiring Windows engineering expertise.
Documentation & Process Excellence :
- Maintain accurate documentation for systems, processes, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Align work with ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications) :
Technical Skills : Strong experience administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) in largescale environments.
Expertise with :
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Server performance tuning & troubleshooting
- Patching, vulnerability remediation, OS hardening
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools
- Familiarity with security tooling
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, firewall concepts, and hybrid cloud environments.
