Position : Snowflake Solution Architect
Experience : 12+ Years
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and cost-effective Snowflake data warehouse solutions.
- Define and document technical architecture, standards, and best practices for data modeling, ETL/ELT, and data consumption.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate Snowflake features (Virtual Warehouses, Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Caching) to meet business requirements.
- Oversee development of data pipelines using tools like Snowpipe, Snowflake Streams, and external ETL/ELT tools (dbt, Fivetran, Informatica).
- Develop and optimize SQL and stored procedures (using Snowflake Scripting or compatible languages) for data transformation.
- Implement data governance, access controls, and security policies within Snowflake.
- Monitor and manage Snowflake credit usage and overall performance.
- Perform query tuning and optimize Virtual Warehouse configurations for low latency and cost efficiency.
- Implement effective data partitioning and clustering strategies.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Business Analysts, and Application Teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and data engineers.
- Stay updated on new Snowflake features and cloud data platform trends, recommending their adoption where beneficial.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Warehousing and Data Architecture.
- 3+ years of hands-on, in-depth experience as a Snowflake Architect or Senior Data Engineer focused on Snowflake.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling (Dimensional, 3NF, Data Vault).
- Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture and its unique features.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and techniques for migrating data to Snowflake.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python for data processing and automation.
- Knowledge of version control (e.g., Git) and CI/CD processes.
Preferred :
- Snowflake Certification (e.g., Snowflake SnowPro Advanced Architect).
- Experience with Data Lake technologies (e.g., S3, ADLS) and integration with Snowflake.
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and their integration with Snowflake.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
