SmartDocs Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to architect, lead, and scale robust applications using Java and Spring Boot. This role requires strong technical leadership, end-to-end ownership of systems, and the ability to build platforms that perform reliably at scale. The ideal candidate will drive technical excellence, lead and mentor engineering teams, and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality products. Experience working on AI-powered features or products is a strong plus, particularly in domains such as Contract Management (CM), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), or Order-to-Cash (OC).

Key Responsibilities :

- Architect, develop, and scale systems using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices-based architectures.

- Lead technical design discussions and drive sound architectural decisions aligned with business and product goals.

- Manage, mentor, and grow engineers through regular feedback, code reviews, and structured career development.

- Partner with Product Management, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality, end-to-end features.

- Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, observability, and system reliability.

- Evaluate and integrate AI/ML capabilities into product workflows, including LLM-based features, intelligent automation, or document understanding pipelines.

Required Qualifications & Technical Expertise :

- 7-12 years of progressive engineering experience, including team leadership roles.

- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Strong, hands-on expertise in Java.

- Proven experience with Spring Boot and microservices architectures.

- Practical experience working with MongoDB in production environments.

- Working knowledge of Angular to effectively collaborate with frontend team.

- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, system design, and scalable, distributed architectures.

- Exposure to AI/ML integration, LLMs, or intelligent document processing is a strong advantage.

- Proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams.

- Clear communication and confident technical decision-making.

- Ability to balance delivery timelines with quality and team growth.
