Role Summary :

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with 5+ years of strong hands-on development experience to join our team on a 3-month contract basis.

The candidate should be capable of independently designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend services with minimal supervision.

This role requires someone who can quickly understand existing systems, contribute from Day 1, and deliver production-ready features in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.

- Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices.

- Integrate third-party services and external systems.

- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.

- Write clean, testable, and maintainable code.

- Work closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams.

- Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes.

- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.

- Ensure proper documentation of features and architecture.

Required Skills & Experience :

Technical Skills :

- 5+ years of backend development experience.

- Strong proficiency in Node.js / Python / Java / .NET (any one or more).

- Experience with REST APIs & Microservices architecture.

- Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis).

- Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Hands-on with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git.

- Knowledge of authentication & security best practices (JWT, OAuth).

- Experience with performance tuning and debugging.

Core Competencies :

- Strong problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently.

- Quick learner.

- Good communication skills.

- Startup/fast-paced environment experience preferred.

Preferred / Good To Have :

- Experience with system design & architecture.

- Exposure to DevOps practices.

- Experience with message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ).

- Unit testing frameworks.

- Experience working on SaaS or enterprise applications.

- Exposure to AI/ML or data-driven applications (plus for SETOO projects).
