Job Overview :
We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and manage complex software implementation and development projects. This role demands a highly experienced individual with a strong background in project lifecycle management, technical team leadership, and strategic client engagement. The successful candidate will be instrumental in architecting project success, ensuring the delivery of robust technical solutions, and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve peak performance while meticulously tracking progress and mitigating risks.
Key Responsibilities :
Technical Project Leadership & Strategy :
- Take full technical and operational ownership of assigned complex implementation and development projects, ensuring their successful execution from initiation to post-delivery phases.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, steering deep-dive project discussions, managing technical expectations, and ensuring alignment on solution architecture.
- Forefront the development and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring precise alignment with complex client requirements, system architecture principles, and overarching business objectives.
- Maintain a detailed project tracker (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps, Asana) for all projects, proactively escalating critical technical blockers or resource constraints for leadership intervention.
Technical Team & Resource Management :
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, while effectively liaising with specialized development, QA, DevOps, and other technical stakeholders for seamless project delivery.
- Foster a collaborative, technically proficient, and results-driven team environment, promoting accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth in technical competencies.
- Monitor team performance against technical milestones and sprint goals, providing constructive feedback and ensuring high-quality technical outputs.
- Track team's project trackers and facilitate daily scrum meetings/technical stand-ups to ensure timely delivery of technical deliverables.
- Ensure strict JIRA adherence for all technical tasks, bugs, and feature development.
Stakeholder & Technical Communication :
- Conduct regular status meetings with a focus on technical progress, acting as the critical bridge between core technical teams and diverse business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams (e.g., Architects, Infrastructure, Security) to resolve complex technical challenges and streamline development workflows.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding technical progress, addressing system concerns, and identifying areas for technical improvement or expansion.
Technical Risk Management & Problem Solving :
- Proactively identify potential technical project risks (e.g., architectural limitations, integration complexities, security vulnerabilities, resource bottlenecks) and implement robust mitigation strategies to ensure smooth delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex technical and operational issues, leading the charge for quick resolution to maintain project timelines and deliverable integrity.
Process Optimization & Compliance :
- Implement industry best practices in technical project management workflows, incorporating methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Innovate processes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of technical project execution, including CI/CD pipeline integration and automated testing.
- Ensure strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and all relevant compliance standards (e.g., security, data privacy) in all project activities.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in technical project management, with at least 3 years in a senior or team-handling role overseeing technical teams.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering multiple, high-impact technical implementation or software development projects on time and within scope.
- Strong team handling experience with a focus on mentoring technical talent, fostering skill development, and managing performance within development/QA teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., C-level executives, clients).
- Experience in conducting detailed business reviews and compelling client presentations on technical progress and solutions.
- Proficiency in industry-standard project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, or MS Project.
- Certifications like PMP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent technical project management credentials are a plus.
