Role Overview :

- We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about quality engineering and automation. The ideal candidate will take ownership of backend and automation testing, work closely with development teams, and ensure robust, scalable, and high-quality releases across platforms.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend systems and APIs

- Perform backend testing including API, database, and service-level validations

- Collaborate with developers to understand system architecture and ensure test coverage at all layers

- Execute and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins

- Conduct functional, API, database, and performance testing (proficiency required in at least two areas)

- Identify, report, and track defects while ensuring timely resolution

- Drive test strategy, test planning, and best practices across teams

- Mentor junior SDETs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering

- Strong experience in Backend Testing and Automation Testing

- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: Java, Python, or C++

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins

- Strong expertise in minimum two of the following:

1. Functional Testing

2. API Testing

3. Database Testing

4. Performance Testing

- Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Good to Have :

- Experience with test automation frameworks and REST-based services

- Exposure to cloud-based applications and microservices architecture

- Knowledge of containerization and DevOps practices
