Job Description

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly experienced, versatile ServiceNow Developer who can work confidently across multiple modules of the platform including ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, and Integrations rather than being limited to a single application area.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned platform generalist with deep architectural understanding, capable of leading complex builds independently, mentoring junior developers, and acting as a technical go-to across module teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and configure solutions across multiple ServiceNow applications such as ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request), ITOM (Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB), CSM, HRSD, and Service Catalog.

- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical designs and platform configurations.

- Build and maintain Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, Script Includes, and Scheduled Jobs.

- Develop and manage workflows and process automation using Flow Designer and (where applicable) legacy Workflow Editor.

- Build and support integrations with third-party systems using REST, SOAP, Integration Hub Spokes, and MID Server.

- Configure and maintain CMDB, Discovery patterns, and Service Mapping for accurate infrastructure and service visibility.

- Develop and customize Service Portal / Employee Center / Now Experience UI Builder pages and widgets.

- Own end-to-end delivery for assigned enhancements : design, build, unit test, support UAT, and deploy across environments (Dev/Test/Prod).

- Manage platform administration tasks such as update sets, ACL management, roles, and instance data management.

- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, performance bottlenecks, and production defects across modules.

- Stay current with new ServiceNow releases and evaluate features (e.g., AI/Virtual Agent, Predictive Intelligence) for adoption.

- Prepare technical documentation, low-level design (LLD) documents, and release/deployment notes.

- Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA, and platform admins across module teams to ensure consistent platform governance.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers, including code reviews and best practice guidance.

- Own architectural decisions for complex, cross-module builds and act as the technical escalation point for the ServiceNow team.

- Contribute to platform roadmap planning, upgrade impact assessments, and technical governance standards.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 812 years of overall IT experience, including at least 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development across multiple modules (e.g., ITSM + CSM, or ITOM + HRSD).

- Proven experience leading or architecting large-scale, multi-module ServiceNow implementations from design through go-live.

- Strong command of JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting : Glide APIs (GlideRecord, GlideAjax, GlideForm), Script Includes, and Business Rules.

- Solid understanding of the ServiceNow data model, CMDB structure, ACLs, and platform security concepts.

- Practical experience with Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and building/consuming REST and SOAP web services.

- Familiarity with Service Portal (AngularJS/Widgets) and/or Now Experience UI Builder.

- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and how they map to ServiceNow's ITSM/ITOM applications.

- Experience managing update sets, application scoping, and multi-environment deployments (Dev/Test/Prod).

- Comfortable working across the full development lifecycle requirement analysis, design, build, testing, and deployment.

- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills across varied technical scenarios.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders as well as technical teams, and to mentor junior developers.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps.

Preferred / Good to Have :

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification mandatory or strongly preferred.

- One or more ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications e.g., CIS-ITSM, CIS-CSM, CIS-HR, CIS-Discovery.

- Exposure to Performance Analytics, Virtual Agent, or Predictive Intelligence.

- Experience with GRC, SecOps, or App Engine Studio (custom app development).

- Prior experience working in a global delivery / offshore-onshore team model.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

What We Offer :

- Broad exposure across multiple ServiceNow modules rather than a single-track role.

- Opportunity to work on enterprise-scale, multi-module ServiceNow implementations.

- Collaborative, learning-focused work environment with strong platform governance practices.

- Competitive compensation and benefits package.

- Certification support and career growth within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
